Approving transactions ordered in branches with mobile authorisation. Another leap of Bank Millennium in digitalisation of services

Bank Millennium has implemented in its branches the possibility of confirming part of transactions with Mobile Authorisation. This is another extremely important step in the bank’s strategy for digitalisation and limiting paper documents. The service is also an excellent example of an project initiated and fully implemented by the bank’s staff.

Previously all transactions made in a branch were confirmed with a signature under a transaction confirmation printed out by the bank’s employee. Now customers, who have active Mobile Authorisation, will confirm part of transactions made in a branch by using the mobile app. It is enough to log-on to the app and click on Confirm on the screen with transaction details. Additionally the app will also provide a history of all authorisations

- It is our priority to assure the best possible experience with using the bank’s services. Mobile Authorisation users are gaining in numbers. Already some 30% of customers using electronic channels confirm their transactions in the app instead of copying the SMS P@ssword. So we decided to go a step further and to introduce this possibility for transactions ordered in branches. We are also improving further processes in the “omni-channel” spirit. This means that irrespective of the access channel, which the customer selects, the business can always be taken care-of quickly, easily and very conveniently – Antonio Pinto, Member of the Management Board of Bank Millennium, responsible for digital transformation of the organisation, said.

- In the age of the pandemic the new process of authorising transactions is much more convenient and safer for customers and for bank staff. It is important to note that in case of many customers this is also their first step to gain better knowledge of e-banking and to find out that it is fast, intuitive and safe to use. Also the fact is extremely important that by reducing the volume of printed paper we are significantly contributing to protection of the natural environment – Wojciech Rybak, Member of the Management Board of Bank Millennium, said.

At present customers can use the new way to authorise domestic and international transfers, cash deposits and withdrawals as well as pre-paid phone top-ups in a branch. However the bank is planning to gradually implement this solution in further sales and operational processes with the customer’s participation.
