Phone number transfer by BLIK in Bank Millennium
Bank Millennium has launched a new version of the phone number transfer service in the mobile application. Now P2P transfers (person-to-person) will be made by means of BLIK, which will permit money to be sent immediately.
P2P transfers are mobile payments made by users of smartphones, without the need to know the recipient’s account number. It is enough to log on to Bank Millennium’s mobile application with BLIK, enter or select from contacts the recipient’s phone number and send a transfer to that number. If the recipient’s number is linked to an account in Bank Millennium, he will get the money immediately. Other recipients will get a message about an awaiting transfer, a temporary Millekod and instructions what to do for the transfer to be booked.
- With a BLIK phone number transfer money can be sent immediately between banks belonging to banks, which are in the BLIK system. So far this had been possible only between customers of Bank Millennium. Naturally nothing changes as far as they are concerned. After other banks have implemented the service, phone number transfers will be executed instantly and customers of these banks will get money on their accounts immediately. All they need to do is install the app with BLIK and ties up their phone number with the account. – Ricardo Campos, Director of the Electronic Banking Department in Bank Millennium said.
- We are glad that PSP’s instant transfers service significantly enhances the functionality of BLIK. This is why I hope that soon enough P2P will be introduced by all banks in the BLIK system. BLIK has massive potential; more and more people start using it only to find out that it is a functional, convenient, secure and widespread payment method. - Grzegorz Długosz, CEO of Polski Standard Płatności said.
The service is available for phones powered by Android (starting from v. 4.0). It will soon be released for iOS (starting from v. 7.0). Detailed information is available at www.bankmillennium.pl.
