A new tool for authorising transactions for Bank Millennium Corporate customers with Cronto technology usage

Bank Millennium, as the first bank in Poland, has launched a new tool for signing transactions and logging on to the internet banking service, available to corporate customers. It is a hardware token with scanner, based on proprietary OneSpan’s Cronto technology.
The newly introduced token is an innovative and intuitive device used for logging on and authorising transactions in the Millenet internet banking system. It enables verification and approving transactions anywhere and any time. Cronto technology makes use of a unique solution in the form of a graphic cryptogram comprising a matrix of coloured dots displayed on the computer screen. The graphic code generated in the internet banking system is read from the computer screen with use of the token. The device provides highest security level. It works offline. Cronto technology complies with the WYSIWYS (What You See Is What You Sign) principle, enabling the customer to verify transaction details such as the amount and account number before approving it. A PIN is an additional security feature of the device, which is defined independently by each user.
- We are pleased to be the first in Poland to offer our corporate customers a high-tech token, which allows excellent customer experience to be built, at the same time assuring the highest level of security. It is a priority for us. We are one of the leaders in this respect; this year for the fourth time in a row we were hailed one of the safest banks in Poland* - Andrzej Gliński, Member of the Bank Millennium Management Board, said.
- Companies from the corporate banking segment use such tools tens of times a day, hence convenience, ease of use and highest level of security are crucially important for them and for us. We took the decision to choose OneSpan’s solution together with our corporate customers. We looked through different types of solutions available on the market and checked which would meet our requirements for such tools. We presented chosen devices to selected clients, so that they could express their opinion. On the basis of customer feedback, OneSpan’s solution was selected – Halina Karpińska, Director of the Electronic Banking Department in Bank Millennium, said.
- Banks are more often considering the importance of customer experience across all banking channels, including corporate banking. Bank Millennium has decided to meet the needs of its corporate clients by providing a solution prepared by OneSpan - said Dan Dica, OneSpan Senior Vice President of Global Sales.
To log on to Millenet with use of the token you must provide logon data, activate the device and use it to scan the colour code generated by the internet banking system, then give the PIN for the device and copy the code shown on the screen of the token. Authorising transaction uses the same process, without the need to copy data into the device manually.
