Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival online from 19 September to 4 October!

The 17th edition of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival will be in hybrid format for the first time in history. Following the great success of Docs Against Isolation in May - an online event, during which participants had access not only to 50 films from previous editions of the festival but also to Q&As with artists, workshops, concerts and lectures, also the festival itself is changing.

Polish viewers will be able to see the latest documentaries from all over the world also without leaving home. More than 100 titles will be available online; allowing people to look at reality is accordance with this year’s edition’s motto “Check whether you understand the world and whether the world understands you”. Apart from the films also virtual meetings will be arranged with the authors and the viewers will get access to materials unpublished earlier.

“Together with Bank Millennium, the naming rights sponsor of the festival, we are thus opening a new chapter in our history, allowing a growing group of viewers from all over Poland to get to meet outstanding world documentary cinema”, Artur Liebhart, founder and director of the Festival, explained.

Last year close to 93,000 people attended the Festival, while during Docs Against Isolation a total of more than 113,000 full film views were recorded. In September, thanks to the hybrid formula, more people than ever before in the Festival’s history will be able to encounter state-of-the-art documentary cinema. Thus the main aim of Millennium Docs Against Gravity, which is to make documentary cinema culture popular in Poland, will surmount yet another barrier and will be carried better still.

The online part of the Festival will be from 19 September to 4 October. It will also include films with audio description and subtitles for the deaf.
