Bank Millennium simplifies the way of opening accounts for citizens of Ukraine

Citizens of Ukraine who want to take advantage of the offer of Bank Millennium and open an account can now do so in a simplified way, showing only a passport at the branch. This is another facilitation introduced by Bank Millennium as a gesture of solidarity towards its eastern neighbours. We hope that this will make it easier for refugees from Ukraine to stay in Poland.

From March 5, citizens of Ukraine who come to Poland in connection with the ongoing war, only need a passport to open an account. Proof of residence and employment in Poland is not required. The account can be opened in Bank Millennium's own branches throughout Poland. Newly opened accounts are exempt from fees on the same terms as accounts that the bank already maintains for citizens of Ukraine. A debit card exempt from monthly fees is issued to the account, also all withdrawals from ATMs are free. After downloading the mobile application, it is possible to launch contactless payments by phone (card tokenisation), which allows you to immediately use the funds on the account.

Facilitations for Ukrainian citizens available since 27 February:

- exemption of customers of Ukrainian nationality from fees for account service, for a payment card and for all withdrawals from ATMs, until further notice.

- cancellation of the commission on all cross-border transfers sent by individual customers to Ukraine, regardless of the nationality of the sender, until further notice.

Bank also offers support of consultants who speak Ukrainian at +48 22 598 40 45.

Contributing to aid activities for refugees arriving from Ukraine is the entire Community of the Bank and the Bank Millennium Foundation. Bank will support selected non-governmental organisations helping Ukrainians in the long term and release funds for a volunteer program for employees who will want to help Ukrainian citizens individually.
