Bank Millennium sponsors traditional jazz in Iława

On 9-11 August 2019 the 49th International Festival of Traditional Jazz "Old Jazz Meeting - Złota Tarka” will take place. Bank Millennium, which this year is celebrating the 30th anniversary of culture sponsoring - has been supporting this one of the oldest Polish jazz festivals in Poland since 19 years.

― It is a great pleasure and privilege to sponsor a jazz festival with such long and rich tradition. Bank Millennium has been sponsor of culture for 30 years now. We support regional and nationwide cultural events and “Złota Tarka” is currently a festival we have been sponsoring longest - 19 years in fact. We prove that you can be a long-term sponsor of local events on top of that. We are proud that we contribute to promoting culture in smaller towns and communities ― Iwona Jarzębska, Director of the Public Relations Department in Bank Millennium, said.

The “Złota Tarka” festival is held in Iława, in the amphitheatre named after Louis Armstrong, a renowned US trumpeter and jazz vocalist. This year the gala concert will feature: Leliwa Jazz Band, La Pompe de Paris, Lindy Hop Battle as well as Polish artists: Zbyszek Namysłowski, Robert Murakowski, Grzech Piotrowski, Jacek Namysłowski, Adam Lemańczyk , Alan Wykpisz. In following days also the following artists will perform: Dorota Miśkiewicz, Kuba Badach, Atom String Quartet, Alchemik Orchestra.

Bank Millennium has been culturally involved for thirty years now. In parallel to its business it has been supporting national and local cultural events. Currently the Bank’s flagship project is naming rights sponsoring of Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival - one of the biggest and most important documentary films festival in Europe, held in parallel in 6 cities in Poland with an audience of tens of thousands each year. In 2019 the festival had record-high audience turnout. It attracted more than 92,000 fans of documentary films to cinemas. Millennium Docs Against Gravity was put on the list of 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World according to the US MovieMaker Magazine ― the worlds most popular independent film magazine. The Bank has been supporting the festival ever since 2006 (from its 3rd edition).

In the Warmińsko-Mazurski region Bank Millennium also supports following events: Lidzbarskie Wieczory Humoru i Satyry, Dni i Noce Szczytna.
