Bank Millennium received KNF’s approval for Euro Bank merger

On 10 September, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority granted the permit for Bank Millennium merger with Euro Bank. It means that the key condition for the legal merger of the banks has been fulfilled.

- I was pleased with the KNF’s decision which is equivalent to expression of trust to Bank Millennium and its strategy. The consent of the General Shareholders’ Meeting of both banks and the consent of the regulator mean that yet another stage of the process aimed at integration of Euro Bank with Bank Millennium has been completed. The last step will be entry into the National Court Register coming up soon which is tantamount to the formal merger of the banks, i.e. the legal merger - commented Joao Bras Jorge, Chairman of Bank Millennium. - It will open up for us the way to the operational merger. Thanks to the acquisition and merger with Euro Bank, Millennium will foster its seventh capital position in the banking sector. According to its 2018-2020 strategy, Bank Millennium has been also growing organically – it will acquire 600 thousand new active clients and will maintain high level of innovations and customer service, its hallmark in the banking sector.

The legal merger of both banks will take place as of the day of entering the merger into the court register. As of that moment, despite of operation under two brands, the merged bank operating under the name of Bank Millennium will constitute a single legal entity. The next step will be the operational merger.
