Small and medium-sized enterprises can already benefit at Bank Millennium from the support resulting from the bank's cooperation with the EIB Group. The Bank has expanded its offer addressed to Polish entrepreneurs, responding to their liquidity and investment needs. In addition, thanks to the involvement of the European Guarantee Fund, entrepreneurs receive favourable financing conditions.

By working with the European Investment Bank and the European Investment Fund, Bank Millennium is reinforcing the EU's objectives of supporting growth and innovation, research and entrepreneurship development.

- Support for enterprises is very important especially now, when operating in the business space involves a number of unpredictable challenges and requires companies to act flexibly and quickly. Cooperation with the EIB Group is an additional value for our bank's clients, who have to operate in an increasingly complex and dynamic economic situation – says Andrzej Gliński, Member of the Management Board of Bank Millennium.

Thanks to the portfolio agreement concluded between Bank Millennium and the European Investment Bank, Millennium Leasing customers can also benefit from favourable financing conditions. Companies whose transactions have been qualified for the program will receive a margin reduction in the case of leasing financing.

Who can apply for support at Bank Millennium?

  • Small and medium-sized enterprises, as defined by the EU.
  • Entrepreneurs who do not operate in sectors excluded from the support of the European Investment Bank.
  • Entrepreneurs whose activities and investment do not have a negative impact on the environment and who are not controversial in ethical and moral terms.
  • An entrepreneur who obtains a positive assessment of creditworthiness.

In addition, the financing applied for by the entrepreneur cannot be supported by other state aid, e.g. BGK guarantees or grants.

Vice-President of the European Investment Bank, Prof. Teresa Czerwińska said - We are very pleased that Bank Millennium, thanks to our cooperation, is launching additional financing opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises. We should make every effort to support SMEs as much as possible in this difficult time , because they are the flywheel of the economy and its development depends to a significant extent on this sector. For the EIB, supporting SMEs is one of its priorities and we are determined to increase it where possible.

- Thanks to the guarantees of the European Guarantee Fund and cooperation with Bank Millennium, the European Investment Fund can offer Polish entrepreneurs alternative financing opportunities, which will certainly translate into the development of investments, especially in the regions covered by the EU cohesion policy. We believe that supporting small and medium-sized enterprises is a key task and we will strive to continue this support - said Alain Godard, Chief Executive Officer of the European Investment Fund.

Bank Millennium and the European Investment Bank (EIB and EIF) Group joined forces in order to satisfy the needs with respect to working capital and liquidity, as well as compensate for investment limitations for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) affected by the COVID-19 crisis. For this purpose the European Investment Bank (EBI) and European Investment Fund (EFI) will provide guarantees at the level 1,5 billion PLN (1,202 mln PLN for the privileged tranches and 300 mln PLN for the subordinated tranche) for the operation of a synthetic securitisation of the portfolio of loans for SME granted by Bank Millennium. Bank Millennium will be able to provide financing and meet the liquidity needs of SMEs through new loans in the total amount of approx. 4.2 bn PLN (equivalent to 6 times the subordinated tranche and 2 times the privileged tranche). 80% of the financing is also directed to SMEs in cohesion regions in Poland and helps to reduce regional disparities – thus contributing to the achievement of the EU Cohesion Objective.
