Bank Millennium four times among the Stars of Banking top three

Bank Millennium was honoured with the Growth Star in this year’s edition of “Stars of Banking” competition, which is organised by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna together with PwC consulting company. The Bank also came second in the “Customer Relationship” category, in which evaluation is made by customers. Millennium was among the top three in this category for the second year in a row now. The Bank also won the bronze medal for overall achievement in the competition’s main category and also in the “Star of Innovation” category.

Stars of Banking are important awards. Winning the “Growth” category was determined i.a. by growth rate of assets, revenues, net profit as well as customer acquisition in 2019. The acquisition of Euro Bank also contributed to the bank’s success.

- We are happy and proud of so many awards, especially of the first place in the “Growth” category. 2019 was for Bank Millennium an incredible year. It was a year of growth. We grew in three dimensions: organic growth, digital growth as well as well as mergers and acquisitions. Bank Millennium’s business grew in terms of number of customers but also volume of activity. We had double-digit growth in all areas of retail and corporate banking, from 10 to 20 per cent in a broad range of products. Additionally we were strongly developing our digital offering, which we target at our customers. It was this year that we launched a completely new online and mobile service. A high-profile growth area was the acquisition of Euro Bank. Bank Millennium made the acquisition, legal merger and full integration of Euro Bank in less than a year. This was probably the fastest and smoothest integration in the banking sector - João Bras Jorge, Chairman of the Management Board of Bank Millennium, said.

The places in the main category of the “Stars of Banking” competition were determined by results in particular categories as well as an independent evaluation by the competition jury.

Winners of the “Customer Relationship” category were picked on the basis of results of an online survey made by PwC for purposes of the “Stars of Banking” competition, on a sample of 12,000 customers, regarding their relationship with the main bank.

In the “innovation” category the jury assessed the innovations implemented by the banks and also took into account the customer digitalisation index.
