Opening an account with the mObywatel application available at Bank Millennium

Bank Millennium has provided a new way of confirming identity when opening a personal account in the mobile app. From now on, this can be done with the help of the mObywatel application.
Confirming identity in the mObywatel application in the process of opening an account online means that the customer can immediately use most products, services and make payments without additional restrictions, without the need to confirm their identity at the branch.

Thanks to the integration with the data transfer service from the mObywatel application, which is already used by nearly 10 million Poles, opening an account becomes even simpler, faster and does not require a visit to a branch. To open an account, simply download the Bank Millennium app to your phone and follow the instructions, and select the "mObywatel application" option in the identity confirmation step. Then the customer is redirected to the mObywatel application, where they agree to transfer their data to the Bank. In the next step, they return to the Bank's application to complete the account opening process. Confirming identity with mObywatel meets the highest standards of data security.

We are pleased that Millennium banking clients will now be able to benefit from this solution.
For those who do not use the mObywatel application, there are two other methods available to open an account online. An alternative in the application is to open an account with a selfie, which involves taking a photo of your ID card and a short recording of your face. The third way to open an account online is to use the bank's website and confirm your identity by logging in to another bank. The customer will open an account in any way if they do not have a restricted PESEL number.
Nearly 3 million of Bank Millennium customers actively use digital channels, and over 2.7 million use banking on mobile devices. Every second account in Bank Millennium is opened online, which confirms the growing popularity of digital solutions among customers. In accordance with the "Value and Growth" strategy for 2025-2028, the Bank wants to increase the number of retail clients to 3.7 million and be the bank of first choice for 70% of them. It intends to achieve these goals by improving customer service, expanding its product offering, and further digitalisation. Opening a personal account with the possibility of confirming identity through the mObywatel application is the first project in a series of initiatives aimed at achieving the primary strategic objective, which is maintaining the leading position in customer acquisition.
