New card for young people Millennium Visa Electron Euro<26

Bank Millennium is extending its offer for young people and university students by adding the Millennium VISA Electron Euro<26 card. It combines a debit card with Europe's most popular Euro<26 youthcard. The card is available to persons aged 13 to 25, holders of the Millekonto Junior and Millekonto Student. The card also provides discounts for goods and services in over 4 700 outlets in Poland and in 100 000 outlets throughout Europe. The card also provides young people with accident insurance and foreign medical treatment insurance cover – valid internationally.

The Millennium Visa Electron Euro<26 card is issued for two years. The annual fee is PLN 50 and it includes insurance cover (body injury insurance – PLN 20 000, medical treatment costs – PLN 250 000), thanks to which the student does not have to take out additional insurance at school or university. The young person can save on average PLN 30-40 per year, using the insurance cover  provided with the Millennium VISA Electron Euro<26 card because as a standard such high insurance is proposed only to customers who select the most expensive insurance option and paying the highest premiums.

The card allows young customers to have 7/24 access to cash via the Millennium and Euronet ATM networks and with use of other VISA Electron branded cash machines. In case of card loss it can be reported as lost immediately and stop-listed. Using the card allows young people to manage their finances (e.g. transfers and bill payments via an ATM) and to control monthly spending thanks to monthly billing statements and balance inquiries as well as checking the last 10 transactions via ATMs. Teenagers and college students who use the Millennium Visa Electron Euro<26 card abroad do not pay additional charges – payment with the card is done in the local currency.

Persons who want additional security can choose an insurance package from Bank Millennium including i.a. cash robbery insurance, unauthorised card use cover, purchased goods insurance, flight or baggage delay or baggage loss.

Bank Millennium was able to propose the new card to young people by co-operating with EURO<26 – Europe's largest non-profit youth programme. The programme is sponsored by the Council of Europe and the European Parliament and piloted by the European Youth Card Association (EYCA). In Poland the card is supported by the Polish Youth Card Association (www.euro26.pl).

The key goals of EURO<26 are the following: facilitating travel, access to education and cultural facilities and offering discounts for young people. EURO<26 is the most popular youth and student personal card in Europe (and in Poland), used by over 4 million persons.
