Investing online in Bank Millennium

Customers of Bank Millennium can now activate access to investment products in a fast and comfortable way and set up Program Inwestycyjny Przyszłość + investment programme fully online by using Millenet internet banking. Thanks to transparent charts and calculations users can take a comprehensive look at their money, which is invested both in deposit as well as investment products, and follow e.g. the generated yield as it accumulates. In the near future customers will also have the availability of advanced investment robo-advisory solutions in the Millenet system.

For close to 1/3 of people in Poland who use internet banking, availability from their bank of investing online would be a factor inclining them to look at such products as mutual funds – according to a survey made for Bank Millennium by IBRiS.

- In today’s world, with an ever increase pace of life, it is crucial for all the most important bank products and services to be available in the most convenient way to the users. Investing is often times treated as a complicated process; however we were able to create solutions, thanks to which it is basically available to everyone. Apart from facilitating access to modern financial instruments, we explain in an easy-to-understand way what investing is all about and we guide the user through all the processes. We also provide a comprehensive picture of the money he has accumulated and also the opportunity to follow and analyse results as they appear. The solution we have introduced is the first step in the implementation of an extensive project, which aims at making it easier for customers to manage their investments and savings on a daily basis - Ricardo Campos, Director of the Electronic Banking Department in Bank Millennium, said.

- 27% of people in Poland say one of the main barriers to investing in funds is insufficient knowledge about such products. It is our aim to tell customers more about it. In a friendly way we present information concerning various financial instruments, we offer access to numerous education materials. We have made use of technical solutions, which make it easier for them to enter the world of investments and to find their way around. We have decided to combine investments and savings products and to present them together, thanks to which we encourage customers to take a comprehensive view of their money – Tomasz Misiak, Director of the Retail Banking Marketing Department in Bank Millennium, said.

Thanks to the new solution the process of activating access to investment products is very fast and comfortable during a single session in the Millenet internet banking system. It does not require leaving home or delivering paper documents and all the steps are described in a very easy-to-understand way. After filling-in the investment questionnaire the customer will receive information about its result (and also what financial instruments are appropriate for him) together with the master agreement. The agreement will be concluded by typing an SMS password. Activating access to financial instruments and products is free of charge and does not involve the obligation to purchase any product. Information about held products is always available and allows their performance to be monitored at any time and place.

After access to the investment products is activated the user may also want to set up the Program Inwestycyjny Przyszłość + investment programme online. This is a proposal for anyone who wants to set aside even small amounts regularly, investing the money thus accumulated on local, European and global capital markets. The product is based on participation units of six subfunds in the Millennium SFIO umbrella fund; the invested money must be split between at least two subfunds. Customers do not pay for setting up and managing the programme, and they also do not pay for purchasing participation units. The investment strategy may be changed any number of times without fees for reallocating the money. – Now the programme can be set up within minutes by means of the Millenet internet banking system. The terms and conditions of maintaining PI Przyszłość + are very flexible and the customer will build his programme personally, defining all its key parameters. The programme can also be personalised in the internet banking system by giving it a name or adding a picture. Signing the agreement is with use of an SMS password and after the money has been booked, the customer can follow performance of the funds online and e.g. decide on an ongoing basis to perhaps change the investment strategy – Krzysztof Kamiński, Member of the Management Board of Millennium TFI, said.

- We will be expanding the list of investment products available completely online in Bank Millennium on an ongoing basis. By talking to customers we have created a very user-friendly website. Like all solutions implemented in Bank Millennium’s electronic banking, the website was built using human-centred design. The solutions we have implemented result from numerous tests and user interviews. This makes them completely intuitive and meeting customers’ needs head-on. In the next stage of the project, we are planning to launch robo-advisory services for investments in the internet banking system. The digital advisor will propose an investment portfolio tailored to the particular customer’s situation and expectations and then will be proposing its modifications depending on the changing economic situation. The user will be able to accept or reject this proposal with a single click in the Millenet system, thus keeping the investment strategy adjusted to the changing environment – Ricardo Campos, Director of the Electronic Banking Department in Bank Millennium, concludes.
