Bank Millennium teaches how to safeguard finances.
The beginning of July saw the launch of a national educational campaign of Bank Millennium, which promotes knowledge about convenient forms of financial security. In a creative and light way, with use of tools involving the audience, Bank Millennium will expose the good and bad habits of the Poles as regards saving and will give tips and guidance on how to regularly grow the financial cushion.
Customers of Bank Millennium have come to accept saving – in 2013 they are setting aside a lot and on a mass scale. Money accumulated on savings accounts in Bank Millennium grew by 38% during the first six months of the year and the value of all the savings of private customers reached PLN 32.6 billion. The Bank was observing growing interest of customers in saving already earlier. Back in 2012 the number of savings accounts increased by 31% (to over a million) and the number of customers who have such accounts grew close to 30% (to 900,000).
It appears that 2013 will be a year of saving – says Marek Ubysz, Head of Savings Products Sub-unit in Bank Millennium – Customers are increasingly willing to put their money aside on savings accounts, which apart from yield also ensure convenient access to the money. The result is growth of volume of funds on such accounts by more than 20%. Today already 50% of the Bank's customers have regular savings on savings accounts and term deposits – Ubysz emphasises.
Bank Millennium is aware of this trend and offers assistance to people in Poland in more effective depositing of money.
Since the start of July the Bank has been promoting reasonable saving habits and the associated financial security. At the same time Bank Millennium will encourage the Poles to have an emergency fund or a "financial cushion", in case of loss of income. The campaign will continue until the end of the year and will comprise i.a. intensive PR efforts as well as special projects involving national dailies and portals.
One of the key efforts of Bank Millennium during the campaign will be to develop a report in cooperation with a research centre, looking at financial security of the Poles. The Bank will also publish results of online polls, which are to encourage people to review their attitudes and habits regarding savings. Results of the opinion polls will be processed and commented upon by experts, including a business psychologist. At the same time through communication efforts the Bank shall be promoting reasonable household budget management as well as having a financial cushion, which will provide financial security in the event of an emergency.
Delivering knowledge about reasonable personal budget management is not all. The Bank will also promote a broad selection of financial solutions to stimulate and facilitate effective saving – including the Finance Manager and Twój Cel Savings Account.
