Bank Millennium focuses on long-term support for Ukrainian refugees in Poland

Bank Millennium transferred the amount of PLN 400,000 to four organizations dealing with support and care for refugees from Ukraine. The Polish Red Cross, Caritas Poland, Polish Humanitarian Action and the "Salvation" Foundation will receive PLN 100,000 each. The decision to transfer the bank's funds to these organizations was made on the basis of proposals submitted by the Bank's employees.
- The war we are witnessing is primarily a human tragedy. We cannot be indifferent to the needs of over a million people from Ukraine seeking refuge and a safe haven in Poland. We are all facing a new challenge, which is the increasing number of refugees who need to be helped in the long term. As a bank and a community of employees, we can and want to be actively involved in helping, responsibly and wisely. That is why we are making our contribution and donating PLN 400,000 to support four organizations that have the experience and ability to help the population in situations of deep crisis, on a large scale – says Joao Bras Jorge, Chairman of the Management Board of Bank Millennium.
Bank Millennium has already taken many actions related to helping Ukraine, i.a. cancelling fees for the account, card and all withdrawals from ATMs for Ukrainian citizens, simplifying banking procedures for them, and also supporting its employees, Ukrainian men and women. From 27 February the Bank also does not charge the commission on all cross-border transfers sent by individual customers to Ukraine, regardless of the nationality of the sender, until further notice. It also provides support of consultants who speak Ukrainian on its Hotline. It also made information available on its website about the possibility of direct payments to the accounts of PCK and Caritas Polska, in order to provide long-term support for Ukrainians who came to Poland as a result of hostilities.
Contributing to aid activities for refugees arriving from Ukraine is the entire Community of the Bank and the Bank Millennium Foundation, which launched a special edition of the #słuchaMywspieraMy programme of grants for employee initiatives targeted at refugees from Ukraine.
