'Millennium Pearls' on TVP 1
Today Bank Millennium and Polish Television inaugurated a joint cycle of programmes under umbrella name of 'Millennium Pearls'. Bank Millennium S.A. and Telewizja Polska S.A. inaugurated their joint programme 'Millennium Pearls' with the gala first night show of the TV theatrical performance of "Hamlet" at Stanslawowski Theatre, Łazienki Królewskie in Warsaw, directed by Łukasz Barczyk. The programme shall be composed of four high-culture artistic events produced and promoted in a joint effort of the Bank and TVP in 2004.
For the Millennium Bank participation in this programme continues its long-lasting tradition of supporting Polish artists and premium artistic phenomena, within the social mission of the Bank.
The relationship between the Bank and public television seems to be natural - the Bank was looking for a partner, whose mission would be linked to presentation of high-class artistic events and which is technically and organisationally prepared to develop, produce and promote such events within its agenda.
In a joint effort, the partners are looking for viable artistic projects (original, high-class premier artistic programmes from all areas of art, which may be presented on TVP). They evaluate them and incorporate into the cycle. The Television provides production capacities, whereas the Bank co-finances the projects. Both partners share the burden of programme promotion.
The first event of the cycle "Millennium Pearls" is "Hamlet" directed by Łukasz Barczyk, with new original setting (the plot unravels in Wieliczka Salt Mines), featuring great photography and creations of parts by the most eminent Polish actors.
"The underlying assumption is to present every quarterly a new programme and we are still open to interesting proposals. "Millennium Pearls" are to stimulate the circles of artists and producers seeking to implement their artistic ideas on the grounds of the new model of patronage developed by Bank Millennium and Polish Television." - said Bogusław Kott, Chairman of the Management Board of Bank Millennium, during today's press conference.
