-Bank Millennium is an institution, which supports only very valuable cultural events. Events, in which each of us would like to take part as member of the audience - Iwona Jarzębska, Public Relations Director of Bank Millennium said. – This is why I am so proud to say that we are involved with the Sacrum Profanum Festival. Year-in, year-out it is one of the most important points in every music-lover’s calendar. For people who take an interest in contemporary music, Sacrum Profanum is a placard of Kraków and Poland – Jarzębska added
This year the Sacrum Profanum Festival will be held on 1-8 October. The artists who will be performing in Kraków include Ictus Ensemble, Mike Patton, musikFabrik, Ensemble InterContemporain, Mira Calix, Arditti Quartet, Stephen Drury, Eyvind Kang and the Sinfonietta Cracovia orchestra
-Sacrum Profanum has gained the status of one of the most interesting music festivals of contemporary Europe. We are pleased that Bank Millennium has again decided to support this significant event, which is meaningful for Polish and European culture – Krzysztof Pietraszewski, curator of the Sacrum Profanum Festival emphasised.
Eradication of borders between contemporary music, treated often times as difficult and incomprehensible, and the achievements of the ambitious entertainment and experimental scene, is the main aim of the festival. Its rank is built by the participation – on the one hand – of the best groups performing contemporary music, to include Ensemble Modern, Alarm Will Sound, Bang on a Can All-Stars, Kronos Quartet, on the other hand – stars of the worldwide alternative scene, such as Aphex Twin, Jónsi, Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead), Adrian Utley (Portishead), Kraftwerk or Sigur Rós groups.
The festival has won the most serious Polish awards and prizes. It has also been added to the official calendar of the Polish Presidency in the Council of the European Union. The Festival, recommended by such prestigious music magazines as Gramophone, BBC Music Magazine, Mezzo TV channel, enjoys recognition by critics and the public at large. The Festival gets coverage every year by more than 160 reporters from Poland and abroad.
Bank Millennium has been the Festival’s sponsor non-stop since five years.
