Millennium Docs Against Gravity coming soon. Bank Millennium for the 18th time the festival sponsor.

The 20th jubilee edition of Millennium Docs Against Gravity, the largest film festival in Poland, under the slogan “Nie bądź obojętny_a” ("Don't be indifferent”) will take place on May 12-21 in cinemas of eight Polish cities, and the online part of the festival will last from May 23 until June 4. Bank Millennium has been sponsor of the event for 18 years now.

Millennium Docs Against Gravity is the most important cultural project supported by the bank. In 2016 the bank became the naming rights sponsor of this event.

- The festival celebrates its 20th jubilee edition this year and we also have a reason to celebrate. Our patronage over the festival has come of age – it has been going on continuously for 18 years, during which we could proudly observe how Millennium Docs Against Gravity is thriving, gaining a wider audience and becoming an obligatory event in the calendar of many of us. Millennium Docs Against Gravity is our flagship project as part of our Patronage of Culture, but the Bank has a much broader view – apart from culture, it supports the protection of climate, natural environment, and endangered species, while reducing its carbon footprint, it takes care of diversity, local communities. Together with the festival, we create a space where groups which are often socially excluded can tell their stories. We address many important and difficult topics that we as people and societies have to face. In supporting this event we facilitate very broad access to the world of culture and social debate says Iwona Jarzębska, Director of Public Relations Department at Bank Millennium.

- We are very grateful to Bank Millennium for 18 years of our joint activities! Our cooperation has just reached the age of majority, which is a completely unique case when it comes to the patronage of private institutions over film events in our country. For years, we have been jointly showing the best documentary films from around the world to the Polish audience. The 20th edition of the festival is, on the one hand, a moment of recaps, but also of looking for new opportunities to reach the audience, in which the bank also supports us with an extensive advertising campaign, for which we are grateful. We invite you to our jubilee film feast in May!" - says Artur Liebhart, director and founder of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival.

The Bank highly appreciates the selection of festival films and the diversity and versatility of the topics they address. Millennium Docs Against Gravity does not remain indifferent to the burning problems of the 21st century, it forces us to reflect on the condition of the modern world, raises the most current problems, opens our eyes, encourages us to act. The slogan of this year's edition of the festival - "Do not be indifferent" - reflects its mission and program. It is an expression of the values that have accompanied the festival since its very beginning - mindfulness and sensitivity (including linguistic sensitivity) to the world and the people around us. Every year, the festival program features a lot of film categories. Among them, films about ecology, which grapple with the subject of the actual state of the Earth and the need to protect our planet, endangered species, also show how to fight climate change and the growing impact of human activity on nature.

Bank Millennium has been involved in culture promotion for more than 30 years now. In parallel to its business, it has supported national and local cultural events. It is a sponsor of culture 360° - promoting art in almost all its forms, including: music, painting, sculpture, film, theatre, photography, literature, and performance. It reaches for niche and popular culture, is by design a long-term partner. Understanding that the recent years have been extremely tough on institutions of culture, cinemas and theatres, the support in this area remains still very important for the Bank.
