28.09.2022In 19th edition of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival as many as 138 069 persons took part. It is over 4 thous. more than in 2021. Bank Millennium has been sponsor of the event for 17 years now. The Bank is also the founder of the Festival's main prize - and in 2022 also two special awards for Ukrainian creators. Besides, within the Festival, the Bank has been continuing its audio-description project assisting persons with sight disabilities to participate in the film shows.

25.05.2022During the 19th edition of Poland’s largest film festival Millennium Docs Against Gravity, Grand Prix – the Bank Millennium Award – was given to the Polish film "Lombard", directed by Łukasz Kowalski. At the awards gala, a special Bank Millennium award for the director of the best Ukrainian film was also presented. It went to Oleksiy Radynski for the film "Infinity According to Florian".

19.05.2022The 19th edition of the largest documentary film festival in Poland, Millennium Docs Against Gravity, is underway. As part of the festival, Bank Millennium continues the audio description project, thanks to which selected films are available to people with visual and hearing disabilities.

16.09.2021After cinema version enjoying major popularity on 16 September the online part of the 18th round of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival begins. Until 3 October, the public will be able to watch 129 best documentaries at home on the platform mdag.pl. Bank Millennium, festival sponsor for many years, is extending its cooperation with the organiser for the next 3 years.

02.09.2021This year’s edition of the biggest documentary film festival in Poland will be opened by a film about the famous climate activist “I am Greta”. It will also compete for the Millennium Bank Award - Grand Prix, which will be awarded by a jury with Agnieszka Holland. As a long-standing sponsor of the festival Bank Millennium supports initiatives, which reach important social goals. Apart from environmental subjects the festival programme and its accompanying events also emphasise the role of women as well as respect for diversity. The viewers will have an opportunity to see 150 documentary films from around the world. Close to half of them were directed by women.

06.05.2020Millennium Docs Against Gravity announces an unusual online event: DOCS AGAINST ISOLATION, which will last from 8 to 17 May and is a preview of this year's edition of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival, which this year will be exceptionally held on 4-13 September. During the event, viewers will be able to see dozens of films from previous editions, half of which will be in free access (on the portal of the National Film Archive - Audiovisual Institute). In addition to the sessions, there will be Q&A sessions, concerts, DJ sets, workshops, meetings with experts and many other surprises. The opening film, this coming Friday, May 8, will be "Numbers and dreams" directed by Anna Bucchetti, winner of the first Bank Millennium Award in history (he won it in 2006). The closing film, which will be presented free of charge on Sunday, May 17, will be "Thru You Princess" directed by Ido Haar.

29.07.2019Bank Millennium has been a partner of Millennium Docs Against Gravity for 15 years and a sponsor of the Bank Millennium Main Award for the best film. In 2016, he became titular patron of the festival. In 2019, during the 16th edition, the audience attendance record was broken. Over 92,000 viewers in six Polish cities: Warsaw, Wrocław, Gdynia, Katowice, Bydgoszcz and Lublin went to documentary screenings and events accompanying the Festival.
New audience measurement record on 16th Millennium Docs Against Gravity!
29.05.2019More than 92 000 people attended the 16th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival. This number represents a 52% growth over last year. Never before has there been so much interest in documentary cinema in Poland. Last year the event was visited by an audience of 65 000 in all the Festival cities. Since Bank Millennium became the festival’s naming rights sponsor i.e. since 2016, the turnout increased by more than 100% (the audience in 2016 was 42 500). Bank Millennium has been supporting the Festival since 14 years.

Meet the winners of 16th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival!
24.05.2019On 16 May in Teatr Studio in Warszawa a gala ceremony was held at which 16th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival awards were given. The Grand Prix went to the Macedonian film “Honeyland” directed by Lubomir Stefanov, Tamara Kotevska. The award was given by Wojciech Rybak, member of the Management Board of Bank Millennium, who was represented the naming rights sponsor.
