Deferred payments in Bank Millennium

Bank Millennium makes the BLIK Pay Later service available to customers. Thus, it completes the technical pilot of deferred payments and opens the possibility of using the product for the first group of customers. By the end of May, the new solution will be available to all customers.

The first customers of Bank Millennium can already use the BLIK Płacę Później (Pay Later) service. The bank is gradually making the solution available to customers using Android smartphones. In the next step, it will also go to those with iOS devices. BLIK Płacę Później allows you to postpone payment for the purchased goods for 30 days. This form of financing allows you to check the quality or size of goods without using your own funds when shopping online. Customers most often use deferred payments to buy clothing and electronics. The Bank is introducing a new solution together with Polski Standard Płatności (PSP).

- We design all our solutions in electronic channels with our customers in mind – their emotions, their needs – and we want to provide them with positive statements. We wanted the BLIK Płacę Później service to fit in as well as possible with the processes already available in our mobile application, even though it is initiated in the online store. When working with PSP, it was important for both parties that these high standards were maintained. As a result, the users of our application received a user-friendly service, from quick registration, convenient payment to a transparent debt repayment process – assures Halina Karpińska, Director of the Electronic Banking Department at Bank Millennium and Secretary of the Supervisory Board of Polski Standard Płatności.

- The deferred payment service is a response to the trends of modern e-commerce. We are glad that we are one of the first banks to be able to offer it to Bank Millennium clients. The innovative form of payment is very useful in many situations, it allows you to buy products and services online without having to freeze your funds. As a result, customers can better plan their expenses and take advantage of attractive promotions and discounts - says Tomasz Pol, Retail Banking Marketing Director at Bank Millennium.

- Deferred payments are becoming more and more popular on the Polish Internet. Over the past few months, we have been actively working on the BLIK Płacę Później service to best suit customer preferences. Bank Millennium was the first bank to decide to develop this service with us, and now, as a result of the joint work of both teams, we are completing its pilot and making BLIK Płacę Później available on a large scale. It was an intense time, in which we tried our best to reflect the BLIK experience appreciated by 16 million active BLIK users - says Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, President of Polski Standard Płatności, the operator of BLIK.

Customers who want to use the BLIK Płacę Później service in Bank Millennium will be asked to activate it during the transaction in the online store. After choosing deferred payment, a quick credit decision will be made and the user may receive a certain limit of funds (between 500 and 4000 PLN) to be used as part of the service. The customer will then be able to pay for the order using the credit. Then, in the Bank Millennium mobile application, they can control the amount of the limit granted, the amount used for purchases and the date by which it should be repaid. If the repayment is made within 30 days of purchase, the customer will not incur additional costs. Bank Millennium customers are most willing to pay with BLIK on the Internet. In 2H 2023, almost 1.9 million of the bank's customers used BLIK payments at least once.
