Bank Millennium in the report "Responsible Business in Poland in 2023. Good Practices" FOB

Two Bank Millennium practices: Millennium Eco-index and Our People'23: Save the Planet programme in the good practices report of the Responsible Business Forum.

This year's publication of the Responsible Business Forum presents 1046 ESG-related practices in Poland. The best practices of Bank Millennium were included in the report in two areas: Good practices – environment and social engagement and local community development.

In the published report, we can find a statement by Krzysztof Kamiński, a Member of the Management Board of Millennium TFI, who talks about the needs of sustainable investments and finances. Sustainable finance is typically associated with the financing of projects and activities that take into account or support the environment, society, or governance (ESG) aspects. However, in my opinion, it is above all a fundamental change in the way of thinking in finance and the functioning of financial markets, which are to support the climate transition through their strong impact on the entire economy.

Commitment to the development of local communities and care for the natural environment are among the pillars of our organisation. We are proud that the authors of the "Responsible Business in Poland. Good Practices" report have appreciated our two original projects and classified them as socially important initiatives. The Millennium Eco-Index is our contribution to the discussion on the ecological transformation of the Polish economy. The development of eco-innovation potential at the regional level is important, because positive changes often start at the local level. On the other hand, Our People: Save the planet had a positive impact not only on the community within our organization, but also supported the involvement of local communities in places where eco-initiatives were implemented. - Magdalena Trzynadlowska, Director of the Sustainability Department.

Millennium Eco-Index" as a platform for discussion on the green transformation of the Polish economy

The report "Millennium Eco-index – the eco-innovation potential of regions" as a platform for discussion on the green transformation of the Polish economy. The aim of the report was to engage Poles in the green transformation and to show that ecological innovations are a beneficial investment in the long term. The substantive partners were the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow and the Warsaw School of Economics.

Our People’23: Save the Planet

Our People'23: Save the Planet combines sports and charity causes. The programme was divided into 2 parts: sports challenge and eco-volunteering. The bank's employees collected points and kilometres through various sports activities, in this way they collected funds for the implementation of ecological projects of Bank Millennium Foundation volunteers.

Our People'23: Save the Planet engaged 1,508 volunteers, whose sports activities contributed to the achievement of the goal - to provide the Bank Millennium Foundation with funds for the implementation of 26 different eco-initiatives.

The report "Responsible Business in Poland. Good Practices" is the most important cyclical publication of the Responsible Business Forum, published since 2002. The report is an overview of the activity of companies that have reported their activities in the area of sustainable development. It summarises the most important ESG-related issues in a given year in Poland. The report also includes expert articles. A review of the most important events and publications related to sustainable development is also a permanent part of the conference.
