Danuta Szaflarska – an eminent theatre, film and television actress has been awarded this year's "Golden Sceptre", which is given by Bank Millennium and Polish Culture Foundation.

The artist has been recognised for "many years of superior stage and screen acting performance, which is an ark of the covenant between generations and traditions of this art and its present soul and face".

"The Small Sceptre" award for young generation artists, granted by the Laureate, went to Teatr Robotniczy im. Bolesława Barbackiego theatre in Nowy Sącz, where Danuta Szaflarska madde her first appearance in 1936.

The award-giving ceremony was held on 25 November 2013 in the National Theatre in Warsaw.
