This record-breaking engagement ended the sports part of the Our People'26 campaign, now it is time for volunteering programme.
Almost 2000 employees of the Bank Millennium Group took part in this year's edition of the sports and charity internal challenge Our People. For two months (May, June), the participants of the action earned points for physical activity including running, cycling, rollerblading or physical exercise. The collected points were then converted into financial resources that will support and promote the social activities of employees.
The participants of the Our People' 26 campaign covered a total of 284,309 kilometres on wheels and 221,268 kilometres on foot, thus combining care for health and an active lifestyle with helping others. Thanks to their involvement, Bank Millennium donated PLN 250,000 to the Bank Millennium Foundation. The Foundation will now allocate these funds to the implementation and support of employee volunteering projects for local communities throughout Poland. The social dimension of the campaign remains the most important element of the Our People programme, which has been implemented at the Bank for many years. It is a unique example of promoting an active lifestyle with public involvement of Bank Millennium Group employees.
Shortly after the end of the sports part of the initiative, at the beginning of July, the volunteer programme of the Bank Millennium Foundation was launched. Those interested can submit and implement their own social and charity projects. Last year, 54 initiatives were implemented as part of volunteering, in which over 300 volunteers were involved. In total, they devoted over two thousand hours to social activities. It is the employee volunteering programme that has allowed the Bank Millennium Foundation to provide assistance to local communities in various regions of Poland for over 35 years.
