About the Finance Manager
Finance Manager is a free service enabling budgeting personal finance. Thanks to the Finance Manager you can easily control your expenses and manage savings.
Who can use this service?
For every Customer of Bank Millennium who wants to quickly and conveniently manage their household budget.
All you need:
- an active current account, credit card or to be a user of prepaid card in Bank Millennium,
- access to the transactional system - Millenet.
Finance Menager presents the history of transactions for a period of 12 months, thus providing a detailed analysis of spending history.

Current ratio between income and expenses
Data present the household budget, reflecting incoming and outgoing transactions on accounts and cards, which you want to include in the analysis.
Creating the budget
You can define your expenses, specifying the amounts you want to allocate per month to individual spending categories and subcategories.
When you have reached a certain amount of spending in a category or subcategory, the system will text you with an appropriate warning.
Creating a saving plan
Define the amount and time horizon for the saving plan and the system will suggest the categories and subcategories, where you can spend less.
System presents analysis results in the form of charts. Various charts are available, presenting the sum of incoming and outgoing transactions.
Expense and income categories
Transactions done on your accounts and cards are automatically assigned to categories. You can change categories and add your own subcategories.

Questions and answers
Under the Budget bookmark you can define your expenses, specifying the amounts you want to allocate per month to individual spending categories and subcategories. You will be kept posted about the budget balance by the budget utilisation graph. The stripe colour helps you understand your budget situation in the particular category. Green means that you have used-up less than 60% of the budget; orange means more than 60%, while red, that you are over 90%.
If you want to reduce your spending, the saving plan will be helpful. Define the amount and time horizon for the saving plan and the system will suggest the categories and subcategories, where you can spend less. The system understands that some expenses are hard to reduce, proposing savings on those expenses, which are easier to trim down and suggesting how to adjust the monthly budget in individual spending categories and subcategories in order to achieve the desired savings. You can change the proposed budgets for individual categories. Once you have accepted your plan, your budgets will be modified accordingly and will be available to control spending.
An interactive calendar, presenting upcoming inflows and expenses (e.g. interest on deposits, loan payments). Apart from transactions added to the calendar automatically (e.g. interest on deposits, loan payments) you can also plan your own revenues and expenses, thus getting a complete picture of your finances over time.
Transactions added to the Planner may be reflected in the budget utilisation graphs for individual categories and subcategories.
If you want, you can have your budget reflect transactions taken from the Planner – both those added automatically as well as the ones you have defined. This will give you a more complete picture of your budget and you will be able to forecast if the budget, you have planned till the end of the month, will be sufficient. Budget utilisation status will comprise two parts. The single-coloured stripe shows actual expenses while the dashed line shows future spending taken from the Planner. In order to add transactions from the Planner to the budget it is sufficient to check this option, which appears just above the budget.
You can set up texts for individual budgets under the Budget bookmark. When you have reached a certain amount of spending in a category or subcategory, the system will text you with an appropriate warning. In this way, even without having to log on to Millenet, you will be warned that your declared budget is running out.
After entering the Expenses Manager on the Main dashboard you will see the current ratio between income and expenses in the month. Data on the Main dashboard present the household budget, reflecting incoming and outgoing transactions on all accounts and cards, which you want to include in the analysis.
In the Reports bookmark the system presents analysis results in the form of charts. Various charts are available, presenting the sum of incoming and outgoing transactions. You can also view charts for individual categories. The Cash flow bookmark shows reports, which present the savings generated in individual months.
Transactions done on your accounts and cards are automatically assigned to categories. Card transactions are assigned on the basis of merchant code, while transactions on accounts are classified on the basis of specific data included in transaction description, name of beneficiary or number of beneficiary's account.
When you withdraw cash from an ATM and use it to buy pre-owned books, you can change the category from Other Expenses to Leisure. You can also change the subcategory, to which the transaction is assigned.
You can split transactions into smaller amounts, assign to them various categories and analyse expenses in even greater detail. E.g. when withdrawing money from an ATM or when shopping in a supermarket you are able to split a transaction into various categories: Food, dining - groceries, Entertainment - Books, magazines, newspapers, Shopping, services - cosmetics, cleaning products or other categories, which correspond to actual shopping.
You can exclude individual transactions from the calculations. E.g. when you get loan proceeds disbursed to your account then you can hide the transaction in order not to artificially overestimate income. You are able to hide any transaction available under the List of Transactions bookmark. To hide/unhide transaction use eye icon on the right from transaction.
You can add your own subcategories in Categories and Subcategories in the Settings section.
You can define your own rules for both income as well as expenses. The rules for expenses may be based on the beneficiary's name, transaction description or beneficiary account number. Meanwhile rules for income can be based on sender name, transaction description or sender account number.
The text of the rule (maximum 35 characters) may contain one word or a whole phrase. The beneficiary's name may be just the first or last name, full name or alias (Adam, Millenniowski, Adam Millenniowski, Adaś, Misiek etc.). The title of the transaction may contain a detailed description (e.g.: electricity bill - then all electricity bills will be classified according to the rule) or only part of it (e.g.: bill - then various bills will be classified in the same way). The account number does not have to be full, it may e.g. be the last 10 digits.
You can add your own rule in Settings, section Rules management. The rules you add are more important for the system than those set-up by the Bank.
Application of the rules is very broad, for instance you can: define a rule, on the basis of which books bought in a specific bookstore will be treated as Education category, not Entertainment. Likewise shopping in a children's shop may be treated as Gifts, celebrations instead of Children.
Decide yourself, which Millennium accounts and cards are to be included in the analysis.
