You can buy Internet for foreign trips in the Bank Millennium app

Bank Millennium has decided to make it easier for its customers to travel abroad. In its smart app, it has launched the ability to buy eSIM cards with internet plans abroad. Customers can purchase data packages of 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 20 or 50 GB valid for 7, 15 or 30 days at favourable prices. The range of individual packages covers almost the entire world. The smartphone on which we want to use the solution must support the possibility of installing virtual SIM cards (eSIM). The solution is available to customers who have confirmed their identity at a branch, have a personal account and have the latest version of the app activated.

An eSIM card can be purchased and installed on a smartphone from the level of the Bank Millennium app. In the smart banking app, you can check the status of purchased cards (date of installation, purchase and validity period) and the amount of data used on an ongoing basis. The card activation itself takes place in the phone settings. You can use the internet as soon as you reach the country for which you bought the package – the plan starts working when you connect to the local mobile network. This is another service of Bank Millennium related to mobile communication. In Millenet and the mobile application, the Bank also allows you to register SIM cards and top up your prepaid phone. The service applies to most operators: T-Mobile, Heyah, Plus, PLAY, Orange, nju mobile, Virgin Mobile, Lycamobile and Mobile Vikings. The partner of these solutions is Autopay.

The possibility of purchasing eSIM cards with internet access complements the rich offer of Bank Millennium addressed to people who are willing to travel abroad. Customers can pay in foreign currency directly from the Millennium 360° account or by credit card. The limit of up to PLN 5,000 per month allows you to settle FX transactions with the card without the Bank's margin for currency conversion. The Bank also invariably uses attractive exchange rates of payment organisations for transactions in foreign currency with all types of cards. Millennium 360° account holders can also instantly exchange currencies in the Bank Millennium mobile app. In the exchange office, you can exchange: euros (EUR), dollars (USD), British pounds (GBP) and Swiss francs (CHF). The Bank offers several different travel insurance to its customers, including free Safe Travel insurance, which is automatically added to the Visa Global credit card. There are also travel insurances that you can purchase yourself.

In the current promotion¹, persons opening a Millennium 360° account can receive a bonus of up to PLN 600. Customers receive PLN 100 if they open an account with a debit card and agree to the terms and conditions of the promotion. The second bonus of PLN 200 can be received if, within 14 days of opening the account, the user: ensures a one-time inflow of at least PLN 1,000 to the account and makes 5 transactions using a virtual wallet (e.g. Apple Pay/Google Pay). Clients receive the third bonus of PLN 300 if, in each of the 3 consecutive months following the month of opening the Millennium 360° account: they ensure a one-off inflow of at least PLN 3,000 to the account and pay using a virtual wallet or the debit card at least PLN 500. For customers aged 18-25, the condition for receiving the third bonus is to ensure that the account is credited with a one-off inflow of at least PLN 1,000 and to pay PLN 360 via a virtual wallet or the debit card.

The free Multi-currency Service consists in connecting via the mobile app a foreign currency account to a debit card issued to your personal account. Transactions made with a card with the multi-currency service enabled are posted directly to the foreign currency account without currency conversion, if the account currency corresponds to the currency of the transaction. If the transaction is carried out in a different currency or there are insufficient funds on the foreign currency account, such a transaction will be settled with currency conversion on the personal account maintained in PLN at the exchange rate of the payment organisation. Then you pay up to PLN 5000 per month without the Bank's additional margin for currency conversion. If you use the limit of PLN 5000, the Bank's additional margin will be 2%.

The Currency Exchange service is available in the Bank Millennium application. The application allows for immediate currency exchange within the customer's accounts. The currency conversion takes place at the proposed exchange rate, which is updated every 30 seconds until the exchange is confirmed by the Client.
