Bank Millennium is a partner of the Golden Yorick 2025 competition

Bank Millennium, which has been involved in supporting culture in Poland for nearly four decades, has become a partner of the 2025 Golden Yorick award – the oldest and most prestigious award for Polish stagings of William Shakespeare's works. The competition is held as part of the 29th Shakespeare Festival, organised by the Shakespeare Theatre in Gdańsk.

The partnership of the Golden Yorick 2025 competition is another step in the Bank's long-term involvement in cultural projects.

— Patronage of culture is an inseparable part of Bank Millennium's identity. For almost 40 years, we have been supporting art in its various forms – from film and music to theatre and literature. Our commitment is not only about financial support – it is about value-based partnerships that connect the world of art and responsible business. We are convinced that culture has the power to build community and shape identity. We would like to thank the management of the Shakespeare Theatre for the opportunity to join the group of partners and congratulate them on their great artistic initiatives — says Magdalena Zmitrowicz, Member of the Management Board of Bank Millennium.

The Golden Yorick competition has been held continuously since 1994 and is a summary of Polish Shakespearean productions of a given artistic season. The selector of the competition, theatre critic Łukasz Drewniak, selects from 3 to 5 best performances of the season, which are presented during the Shakespeare Festival in Gdańsk.

This year's 29th edition of the Gdańsk Shakespeare Festival will be held from 25 July to 3 August 2025 under the slogan "Words, words, words". The programme will include nine premieres of Polish performances and presentations of acclaimed foreign productions, among others from Japan, Ukraine, Spain and the United Kingdom. The festival is an international platform for the exchange of experiences and artistic dialogue, bringing together creative circles and theatre lovers from all over the world. As the only festival from Poland and one of only five in Europe, it was honoured with the prestigious EFFE Award, given by the European Festivals Association in cooperation with the European Commission and the European Parliament.

The history of Bank Millennium is inextricably linked to culture. Right from the very start of its activity, the Bank has been engaged in providing access to and promoting culture in Poland. It supports national and local cultural events. It is a sponsor of culture 360°, it promotes art in almost all its forms, including: film, music, theatre, photography and painting, sculpture, literature and performance. It reaches for niche and popular culture; it is a long-term partner by design. Support in this area remains very important for the Bank.
