In this year’s edition of the Institution of the Year ranking organised by Moje Bankowanie, activities of the Bank Millennium Foundation were distinguished in the Corporate Social Responsibility category.

The organisers of the Institution of the Year ranking distinguished support for home-based financial education for children within the “Financial ABCs” programme conducted by the Bank Millennium Foundation. It is the flagship project of the Bank Millennium Foundation conducted since 2016. Despite the pandemic, the Foundation continued this programme with a new format. Due to the epidemic situation the classes held so far in kindergartens were suspended until recall, however the Foundation made sure that the state-of-the-art educational materials are available online.

Under “Financial ABCs”, an original financial education programme for pre-school children, the Bank Millennium Foundation prepared a series of animated films about the adventures of Sebastian, thus supporting parents in home-schooling of their pre-schoolers during the pandemic. The Foundation developed also an e-guide for parents “How to teach your kids about finance” and a series of video interviews with a psychologist on subjects related to giving financial education to kids of preschool age. This new formula of education is a special proposition from Bank Millennium Foundation for the time of the difficult situation associated with the coronavirus. So far “Financial ABCs” were available in Bank Millennium branches and during workshops in kindergartens; now Sebastian can be in every home. The Foundation decided to prepare “Financial ABCs” in an online format in order to increase its availability and reach the highest possible number of small children. Thus, parents receive complete educational materials, which help engage the children and facilitate learning basic information on finances. “Financial ABCs” educational programme was also awarded in 2019 when it won the Golden Banker award in the “Socially Sensitive Bank” category.
