Bank Millennium brings to Customers the new 3D-Secure service (Three Domain Secure). The service offers a new dimension of security for online payments made with debit and credit cards.

How does 3D-Secure work in Bank Millennium?

3D-Secure transactions are made with use of an additional authorisation with one time SMSP@sswords.
When paying by debit or credit card in an Internet shop, you may receive on your mobile phone a one time SMSP@ssword from the Bank, and asked to use it on the specially prepared and secured website.
Provided financial data will then be sent to a secure authentication server, where the card will be verified.
On this very first stage it will be possible to immediately verify if the card was not stolen, lost or cancelled for other reasons.

What do you need to make an Internet payment?

To ensure the highest level of security of your online card transactions, it is necessary to activate the SMSP@ssword service. Detailed information about activation process are available in section Transaction confirmation.
The mobile phone defined in the Bank is currently used in the Millenet system to confirm transfer orders, sign agreements and to receive transactions notifications.
If you do not have active Millenet service, which allows you to define SMSP@sswords, please read detailed information about the activation process in section Access and Login.
Launching the new service does not require to make any changes in your existing cards parameters and settings. The current card services, limits etc. remain unchanged.

You have time to activate necessary services

During the initial period after service launch, Bank will allow three transactions to be performed without confirming them with SMSP@ssword. This will help you to familiarize with the new functionalities. During this time you can activate the Millenet service and define the mobile phone number for SMSP@sswords.
After the use of available three transactions limit, further online card payments without the SMSP@ssword will not be possible in MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa participating merchants.

3D-Secure is available to Bank Millennium customers who meet the conditions below:

Has an active Millennium prepaid, debit or credit card (Visa or MasterCard),
Has access to the Millenet transactional system for individuals/business customers,
Has activated the SMSP@ssword service.

Can every Client use 3D Secure service?
3D Secure service may be used by every Bank Millennium Client who:
- has an active Millennium prepaid, debit or credit card (Visa or MasterCard),,
- has access to the Millenet transactional system for individuals/business customers,
- has activated the SMS P@ssword service,
- (optionally) has Bank Millennium mobile application.
How much does the service cost?

The service is free-of-charge. The bank does not charge any additional fees for payments protected by 3D Secure.
What is the cost of the additional SMSP@sswords, which are used to confirm transactions?

The Bank does not charge any fees for the one-time SMSP@sswords.
Are 3D Secure card payments safe?

Using 3D-Secure is just as safe as making online transfers and payments via Millenet. Every transaction requires confirmation with single-use of SMS P@ssword sent to your mobile phone number or confirmation with PIN code or fingerprint scan (if your device supports this function) in the mobile application.
What is the difference between 3D Secure payment and standard card payment?

During an online card payment with 3D-Secure, the system will automatically check based on the data provided by the shop, whether the transaction was not submitted by an unauthorized person. To confirm verification, the Bank sends a text message together with secure SMS P@ssword or PUSH message with request for approval of the transaction with PIN code or fingerprint scan (if your device supports this function) whereby your payments are even more secure.
Will a 3D-Secure payment be shown in the account transaction history?

Yes, every card payment made with 3D-Secure is shown in the transaction history of the account which was debited. You can also download a confirmation in PDF file.
Does card online payment with 3D Secure result in utilisation of the main limit?

No, it does not as card online payments do not use daily limit for Millenet transactions, so-called main limit.
I made the purchase and paid for it, but the goods never arrived. What should I do?

If the payment is shown in your account history or credit card account history, call the online shop directly. If you do not see the payment in your account history, call us under 0 801 244 357 or +48 22 598 40 50.
