What is Borrowers’ Support Fund?

If you are in a difficult financial situation and have a mortgage loan, check Borrowers’ Support Fund

About the fund

You can benefit from Borrowers' Support Funds if:

  • you pay off a mortgage loan in Bank Millennium
  • you are in a difficult financial situation

Types of support

1. Instalment financing

This type of support consists in the transfer by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego of an amount equivalent to a monthly capital and interest rate instalment of a mortgage loan. However, the subsidy may not exceed 2000 PLN per month for a period not longer than 36 months.

The period of transferring support may be shorter if, within 36 months, there are reasons excluding the receipt of support (e.g. the borrower found employment and the unemployed status was a condition of receiving support).

Obtained support should be returned 2 years after the last instalment has been paid. The reimbursement is carried out in equal interest-free instalments for 12 years based on the repayment schedule.

If you repay 100 instalments of your support without delay, the remaining amount can be canceled.

2. Debt repayment loan

If the accredited property was sold and the amount received from the sale did not cover the entire mortgage loan, you can get a loan to pay off the debt.

The loan amount cannot be higher than 72 000 PLN and is transferred once by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego to an account at Bank Millennium. The condition for concluding a loan repayment agreement is to provide an agreement for the sale of the credited property within 14 days of the date of sale.

Conditions

You can use the Borrowers' Support Fund if you only have one property and you meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • on the day of submitting the application you have the status of an unemployed person, you or one of the borrowers lost job if the loan is shared (excluding the borrower's termination of the employment contract by notice or termination of the contract without notice due to the borrower's fault)

  • the loan instalment has increased above 50% of your household's income

  • your monthly income* after deducting the loan instalment does not exceed 1552 PLN for a one-person household or 1200 PLN for each person for a multi-person household

    * the indicated amounts of income were determined in accordance with the provisions of the Social Assistance Act of 12 March 2004 (as amended) art. 8 clause 1 point 1 and 2 shall apply from 1/10/2018, and art. 3 clause 1 point 3 of the Act of 9 October 2015 on support for borrowers in financial difficulties.

When can't you get support?

  • if one of the borrowers has received support (unless the support is no longer granted and the period of support has not exceeded 35 months – in this case the total period of support granted to borrowers for repayment of the mortgage may not exceed 36 months)
  • if the mortgage agreement was terminated before submitting an application for support or for a loan to repay the debt
  • if you are entitled to a job loss benefit under a loan repayment insurance agreement that guarantees the payment of a benefit in the event of job loss
  • if, on the day of submitting the application or 6 months before submitting the application for support, you are the owner of another apartment or single-family house, you have other cooperative tenants' right to the apartment, cooperative ownership right to the apartment, right to a single-family house in a housing cooperative or the right to a single-family house or a dwelling built to transfer ownership to members
