Bank Millennium Foundation is Sponsor of Young Art Compass

Young Art Compass is a regularly prepared ranking list of young Polish artists aged under 35. This year’s list was prepared on the basis of a vote of representatives of almost 80 Polish galleries of contemporary art – both commercial as well as public, first of all promoting art. The No. 1 on the list will receive a cheque for PLN 10,000 funded by Bank Millennium Foundation. The prize will be presented on 23 November in Galeria -1 in the Warsaw Olympic Centre during a preview of the exhibition. The works by the young artists shall be displayed until 5 December.

The Young Art Compass event is an important project, which aims to promote trends in art and the works of young up-and-coming artists who are only building their position on the art market. Bank Millennium Foundation is coming out to face the need for cultural education, by sponsoring the Young Art Compass. Yet again we have partnered-up with the exhibition and are sponsoring the main prize for the winner. We are thus following up on 25 years of tradition of Bank Millennium and Bank Millennium Foundation, which continue to support valuable cultural events. – Iwona Jarzębska, President of Bank Millennium Foundation said.

The key role of Young Art Compass, apart from education, is also to act actively for the emergence of a professional art market in Poland. Art collectors, artists, owners of art galleries and auction houses as well as investors see the ranking list as a source of valuable information about the positioning of young artists.
