Recruitment policy in Bank Millennium is based on clear and transparent procedures for selecting employees. Recruitment processes are diversified and depend on the job description. 

The processes have several stages and applications are gathered electronically. The basic stage is a meeting with someone from the HR Department. If the candidate successfully passes this stage of recruitment, this is followed by an invitation to a meeting with a representative of the department, which is offering the job. This meeting is usually the final stage of the recruitment process and is followed by the decision to sign an agreement with the candidate. 

Additional tools may be used in certain processes:

  • analytical skills test
  • English language test
  • work samples (e.g. simulation tasks)
  • case studies
  • Assessment Center

How to write a CV

Before you get the opportunity to meet with representatives of the company of your dreams, your CV will speak for you. Therefore it is very important what you write in it and in what form. Your CV can open the door to a wonderful career. 

To raise your chances you want to make sure your CV has a transparent layout and clearly highlights key competencies, which are important from the employer's point of view.

The most transparent CV layout is when it is divided into such sections as: personal data, education, professional experience (with a brief description of your tasks), attended courses and training, other (computer skills, foreign language skills, driver's license etc.).

It will be helpful for the reader of the CV to have latest events listed before earlier ones.

Get the form right

Below please find hints and tips concerning the proper format of a CV.

  • Eliminate all mistakes, especially spelling mistakes
  • Make your CF easy to read – use proper margins, spacing between sections and lines as well as good font size
  • Not everything is very important – highlight just the key points by using underlining and bold characters
  • Use the same font throughout the text
  • Do not shout – do not write in capital letters
  • Be serious – i.a. use a serious e-mail address
  • Be precise – give the start and end date of presented events, stating at least the month and year
  • Do not write more than two A4 pages
  • Enclose your photo with the CV (the photo should be small and best put in the top right corner; it should be professional – preferably a passport or other similar photograph)

Remember that an easy-to-read and to-the-point CV confirms that you are a meticulous person with the ability to select information.

Do not omit important information

If you do not have professional experience yet, write about your activity in student organisations, science clubs, internships, holiday jobs as well as all other activities connected e.g. with your hobbies. Also do not forget scholarships, conference speeches and other successes.

Experience mentioned above will certainly make you stand out favourably, testifying to your self-reliance, resourcefulness, activeness, ambition and commitment.

A skill, which employers value, is knowledge of foreign languages. It is best to name the certificates, which confirm your knowledge of the foreign language. If you do not have such certificates it is best to be quite candid in describing how well you know the language.

Knowledge of computer programmes is another point, which is a must in a CV.

It is also important to add your consent for processing of your personal data for purposes connected with the recruitment process.

Truth and only the truth

Finally we will just add that a CV should contain only truthful information – just to avoid any doubts. Any inconsistency may cause you to lose credibility and an outward lie is bound to do that.

Now, that you know how to write a CV, prepare it and send it. Remember that your success will be determined by the number of times you try (number of CVs sent).

The effort, which went into preparing the CV, was not wasted. The potential employer has invited you to an interview. If you come well prepared, chances are you will succeed.

During the interview try to prove why you are the right person for the job. Show that you are aware of your strengths and you know what else to change in yourself in order to develop in this job. Do not go to the interview like into a fight, but rather as negotiations between partners and then your chances will increase.


We assume that you have answered the question: why do I want to have this job? We will try to find it out from you.

Your ambitions, aspirations and hobbies are extremely important for us. In fact they determine whether your work in the selected position will bring you satisfaction and thus whether your commitment to the job will stay strong in the long run. Without commitment we can hardly speak about effectiveness and development. Both you as well as we are interested in having the job meet your expectations. Be yourself at the interview – look for a job/internship you will go to with joy.


During the interview we will ask you questions concerning your professional career. We will inquire about the responsibilities you had in your previous jobs and we will also ask for a detailed description of selected professional situations. We will also want to learn why you started and ended your relationship with previous employers.

It is likely that during the interview we will ask for referrals from your previous employers. Be prepared to give us names and phone numbers of persons (former superiors) who can certify that you are a credible employee.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Every job requires a certain mix of knowledge, skills and abilities.

We will ask about part of them and if necessary we will ask you to take following tests:

  •        Knowledge test (e.g.: test of knowledge about capital markets)
  •        Skills test (e.g.: English language skills)
  •        Abilities test (e.g.: test of ability to think analytically)

Usually knowledge and skills are checked in-depth in further stages of the recruitment process.

Personality traits

What we appreciate most of all in potential employees, apart from technical knowledge, is the passion and commitment to work. The standard structure of a recruitment interview will allow you to ask questions towards its end. The questions you ask frequently show the actual commitment and comprehension of the role you are aspiring to. If you are really interested in the job, you will ask about it.

Hints and tips

Prepare for the interview to feel confident. During the meeting behave in a natural way, be yourself.

Remember about business savoir-vivre (i.a. look professional, come to the interview on time if not slightly earlier – you will not be unnecessarily upset; before the interview switch off your mobile phone or mute it).

Result of the interview

Irrespective of the result of the interview treat it as an important general and professional experience. Remember that every interview is another opportunity to find the dream job – you can only win. Do not give up on your dreams and press on regardless.
